Before an assay begins, someone has to load powder, beads or seeds into every well of a plate. Done by hand, that can take the best part of a morning. LabTIE builds three simple manual dispensers in Doorn in the Netherlands that fill a whole plate in one move, in roughly 8 to 30 seconds and at under 1 percent error.
At a glance. Three dispenser lines: powder, bead and seed. About 8 to 30 seconds per plate. Under 1 percent dispensing error. Formats from 24 well to 384 well, plus tubes and trays.
All three are manual, which means no software, no calibration and no service contract. They sit on the bench next to the plates and tubes you already fill.
The same idea, three materials
Each dispenser works the same way. A mesh plate meters the material, a slider or a tap releases it, and every well or tube fills at the same moment. To change the dose, or to move to a different plate, you swap the mesh plate rather than the tool. That one idea covers powder dosing, bead loading and seed sowing.

Powder, beads and seeds
The three lines share a design but solve different jobs.
| Line | What it does | Typical labs |
|---|---|---|
| Powder dispenser | An equal powder dose into every well or tube | Pharma, analytical chemistry, diagnostics |
| Bead dispenser | Grinding beads for bead beating and DNA or RNA extraction | Diagnostics, microbiology, genomics |
| Seed dispenser | One seed per position for germination and seed DNA prep | Seed breeding, plant research |

Why filling by hand costs more than it looks
Weighing, scooping or counting into hundreds of wells is slow, and every open transfer risks spillage, static and cross contamination. Two technicians rarely produce identical plates, and none of that shows up in the protocol. Filling in one action moves the dose from the operator to the mesh plate, so replicates start out equal and the bench stays clean.
Trusted in labs that fill a lot of plates
LabTIE dispensers are used in labs at organisations including Bayer, Syngenta, Johnson & Johnson and Wageningen University, alongside many smaller groups running the same repetitive prep every day. The appeal is the same for all of them: get the slow step off the bench without adding a machine to maintain.
