Seed, bead and powder dispensers

A seed dispenser places single or multiple seeds per well and works with more than 120 seed types, from tiny Arabidopsis and teff seeds to larger crop seeds, into microplates, germination trays, petri dishes and blot paper. A bead dispenser loads grinding and lysis beads into 96 well plates, deep well plates, matrix tubes and vials, ready for bead beating, DNA and RNA extraction and microbiome sample prep. A powder dispenser doses fine powders and particulate material into plates, tubes and vials without weighing each position, which matters for reproducible chemistry and pharmaceutical workflows.

Standard formats and grid sizes

LabTIE dispensers support common laboratory grid formats including 24, 45, 48, 96 and 384 positions, and work with plates, tubes, vials, petri dishes and trays. Exchangeable mesh plates let you switch seed type, bead size or powder volume in seconds, so one dispenser body can serve many protocols. For most labs a standard configuration is the quickest way to start.

When to choose a custom dispenser

If your container is not a standard plate, a custom dispenser is built from two parts: a mesh plate matched to your seed, bead or powder, and a converter that fits your exact plate, tube rack, vial holder or container. Our tech division has built dispensers for GC vials, cryoboxes, deep well racks, rectangular well plates and many other formats. Tell us the container and the sample and we design around it.
